My latest acquistion is the Parks/Craftsman 12 inch thickness planer. I have not yet cleaned it up or repainted it to its original Craftsman color (blue). A prior owner had painted it grey. It appears to be a model 97, 12"x 4" floor model thickness planer(belt drive). It has a belt shield and dust hood, and appears to be complete. It has been used very little, and shows no wear. Removing the gear case cap, the gear oil is clean. Without the gearbox oil seal retrofit, they were notorious for chips and saw dust getting into gear case.
The model number and serial number was removed from the machine. From studying the old manuals and articles on the e-net, I would say it is 1950's vintage.

for you to look at. You will notice no original color on
Deltas, but they needed cleaned and used.
Thanks
My latest passion is my old Delta wood lathe. It is one of those old cast iron beds on cast iron legs. It is really stable, as I can stand a nickle on end and turn it on, and it stays standing! Never having operated a lathe, I started out turning between centers. Nothing flew back at me, so I progressed on to bowl turning. Now what they are good for is beyond me, but they are fun to do. Of all of my shop tools, I think I enjoy it the most. Not to down grade the saws, planer, sanders ect. they all have their place. All are apart of the shop and add to my enjoyment working with wood.........bed time....by....Max
